Hand picked tea

Harvesting tea sprouts by pinching them off the bush one by one with the fingertips reduces stress on the tea plant by ensuring that other parts of the plant aren’t damaged, as often occurs when harvesting with a cutting machine. In ancient times all teas were harvested by hand but today it is very rare. The population of skilled hand harvesters is aging and the future of this important cultural inheritance is in jeopardy. Today hand picked teas are a high quality, luxury product.
