This cake is made for us in Germany from figs, melons, cranberries, pecans, almonds, macadamia nuts, pine nuts, pistachios, without any flour. It derives from the traditional German “Früchtebrot” which usually appears around Christmas time. Our winter forest cake is a rich treat that goes well with coffee, tea, or green tea. We named it winter forest cake because we feel that slowly enjoying each bite feels like taking a walk through a deep snow covered forest.
