Collection: MINEKAORI

The MInekaori cultivar was first cultivated in Miyazaki Prefecture in 1988 as a cross between seedlings of Yabukita and Ankai (an Assam variety). Notable flavor characteristics are a strong and pronounced umami and a sweetness, which is reminiscent of freshly cooked rice. It is resistant to the cold and especially suitable for processing as kamairicha.
