Collection: GYOKURO
This tea originates from Uji, a region renowned as the birthplace of Japan’s finest gyokuro. Cultivated in healthy soil without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers, it embodies a level of refinement worthy of its reputation as the “Queen of Green Tea.” One of Japan’s leading tea farmers oversees every stage of production―from cultivation to processing―guided by a unified philosophy and meticulous care. As a result, only limited quantities of this exceptional tea can be produced. For 21 days prior to harvest, the tea plants are carefully shaded with cloth to protect them from direct sunlight. This traditional Uji method, known as hifuku, deepens the leaf color, enhances natural umami, and shields the delicate shoots from harsh sun and frost. This gyokuro is distinguished by a refined sweetness arising from organic cultivation, paired with a clear and profound depth. Rather than relying on excessive fertilization, it captures the living essence of fresh green leaves. Its clarity, elegance, and naturally derived richness place it among the finest expressions of Uji gyokuro.
